About Stephanie Hoffman
My love for art has been a part of me from a very young age. I have had times in life where I stepped away; during graduate school and after our children were born. The demands of life required a hiatus from creating. I missed it though. I found that I kept coming back to it because it brings me joy to create. It stirs up gratitude. It is healing.
For many years my family pushed me to share this God-given talent with the world. It was always difficult for me to consider. I wasn't ready to make myself vulnerable. My art was always personal and done with love for those I cared about. Their continual encouragement made this possible though.
I have always felt as though I see the world differently than most people. Lights and shadows combine with a kaleidoscope of colors to form the everyday objects everyone else sees.
The emotion in each piece comes from
my love for my home state of Louisiana and the culture that is like none other,
the memories I hold close to my heart,
and the love of the people here.
The people of Louisiana have a joy for life. They are filled with it.
The joie de vivre can be felt by those around them.
I hope each piece I create brings that extra little bit of joy to you, whether it be in the beauty of the work or the emotion and memory it triggers.
